Rutgers University—Newark Publication
Co–Creative Director

Scarlet Magazine, a student-led publication based at Rutgers University–Newark, marked its return after a three-year hiatus, with credit given to the Graphic Design and Journalism programs. The theme of the magazine centered on examining social justice through an arts lens.

My partner, Kai Nix, and I were the Creative Directors. This involved assembling a design team, providing mentorship to fellow students, meeting tight deadlines, and overseeing the comprehensive management of the publication. Our dedication and collaborative approach were important in reaffirming the magazine’s presence on campus.

I designed the front and back covers, the inside covers, the table of contents, the masthead, the Editorial, and the Camera Latino story. My partner and I collaborated on the House of Baraka piece.
