ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Trenton Kana Loa Ali’i Soto. I am a Graphic Designer with a BFA degree from Rutgers University–Newark, following an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Advertising & Graphic Design from Mercer County Community College. I am an Honors Living-Learning Community scholar and a member of the Price Humanities Pathway within the HLLC. Through these programs, I approach leadership opportunities to enhance systems that support the proper representation of global communities.
My design work focuses on activism and engagement with social justice causes. My aesthetic involves geometric minimalism, introducing simple shapes, lines, and space, to address complex information in a clear and comprehensible manner, while highlighting my subjects as paramount. Through the design of communication, I intend to bring attention to the current issues faced by minorities and provide a safe space for amplifying the voices of marginalized groups. I am now preparing to further my education in graduate school, where I plan to continue developing my skills and contributing to the field of graphic design.
At Rutgers, I held the positions of Founding Member and Vice President of the A.C.M Student Council, where our primary aim was to advocate and provide representation for students in creative fields. I also took on the role of Co-Social Media Coordinator for Shades of Love, a club within the HLLC, and also held the position of Treasurer for the Rutgers Student Veteran Organization (RSVO).
